Dear WSSSPE Community,
deRSE19, the first international conference for research software and
Research Software Engineering in Germany, is now accepting contributions!
https://derse19.uni-jena.de/derse19/
deRSE19 has no predefined thematic tracks. As long as your contribution
is around research software, its development and its protagonists, it is
very welcome!
We would also like to encourage all those to submit a contribution, for
whom it would be the first time to present at a conference! Your
contribution is important and welcome - independent of your job
description, experience, discipline, location, gender or background -
and we will do our best to support you in the preparation and
presentation of your contribution!
Submission does not take more than a short abstract (max. 750
characters) and some details about the contribution.
You can submit proposals for talks (short or long), workshops (90 or 180
mins.), posters (including a very short "lightning" talk to present your
poster), as well as proposals for splinter meetings (90/180 mins.) and
birds-of-a-feather events (90/180 mins.).
You can submit in English or German. You should also present at the
conference in this language.
The abstracts of all accepted contributions will be published on the
conference website under a CC-BY 4.0 license.
Submissions will undergo a single-blind review. Reviewers will be able
to see the author information of your submission.
The deadline for submissions is Thursday, 28 February 2019, 23:59:59 CET.
You will be notified of whether your contributions has been accepted on
22 March 2019.
The conference itself will take place from 4-6 June 2019 at Albert
Einstein Science Park in Potsdam. If your contribution is accepted, we
expect at least one of the authors to register for the conference.
### Poster prizes
Three outstanding posters will be awarded with poster prizes during the
conference. Please tell us during submission of your poster if you want
to take part in the competition.
We'd like to take this opportunity to thank the sponsor of the poster
awards, GitLab (https://gitlab.com/).
### Travel bursaries for UK delegates
The UK Research Software Engineer Association would like to offer
funding for travel bursaries to support UK-based RSEs to take part in
the conference, with a preference for presenters or other active
participants. If you are based in the UK and want to apply, please stay
tuned for details.
We'd like to take this opportunity to thank the UK RSE Association for
their support!
We're very much looking forward to your submissions!
If you have any questions, please write us at konferenz at de-rse.org.
Kindest regards from the programme committee of deRSE19
